Ted talks are awesome. The reason they’re so awesome is because they are literally about Ideas Worth Sharing. It gives people a window into the parts of the world we haven’t yet seen. Because of Ted talks, I’ve become pleasantly surprised by who I am as a person; it’s one platform that’s helped me shape myself.
What does shaping myself even mean?
In the existential sense, it’s about shaping my beliefs, morals, attitude and mindset to better my life. At the end of the day, most of us just want to achieve happiness and content-ness. I find Ted talks to be inspiring in this sense, and therefore, happiness is not impossible to grasp.
As the Pope said during his Ted talk:
“Many of us, nowadays, seem to believe that a happy future is something impossible to achieve. While such concerns must be taken very seriously, they are not invincible. They can be overcome when we don’t lock our door to the outside world. Happiness can only be discovered as a gift of harmony between the whole and each single component.”
If you haven’t already, I urge you to watch a few Ted talks! Be as open as you can, and you’ll see how interesting life is.
Having a small chill-out event was just what was needed for a work break, thanks to the TedxLancasterUniversity team. It was a two-hour (literal) chill-out, where members, volunteers and curious people came together to watch Ted talks, participate in activities and just… chill. Here are some photos from it:
